AuctionMethod Alternatives, With Published Prices

AuctionMethod alternatives priced from each vendor's own page (September 2026): Circuit Auction, BidWrangler, Auction Flex 360 + HiBid, Estimint, and Gavelist for cataloging only.

AuctionMethod is white-label online auction software: your own branded bidding website plus cataloging, invoicing, payments and reports, for a flat monthly fee with no commission. Its Growth plan is $100 a month, the Scale plan is $750, and custom builds start at $1,500, each with a one-time activation fee. If you are weighing AuctionMethod alternatives, the real question is which part of that system you want to replace: the whole platform, the bidding marketplace, or only the cataloging. This guide prices the published options for each, from each vendor's own page, accessed September 30, 2026.

Published October 2026 by Ben Cope, founder of Gavelist. Gavelist is one of the options below, for the cataloging job only, so read it that way.

AuctionMethod in five verified facts

According to AuctionMethod's pricing page (accessed September 30, 2026):

  • Plans: Growth $100 a month, Scale $750 a month, Custom Solutions from $1,500 a month.
  • Activation: a one-time fee of $250, $2,500 or $5,000 by plan, "covering account setup and website staging."
  • No caps: "Every plan includes unlimited auctions, bids, lots, items, photos and admin users."
  • No commission: "There's never any platform skim or additional per-lot, event, or photo charges," and all subscriptions are month-to-month.
  • Add-ons: consignor management $75 a month plus $50 activation; simulcast audio/video streaming $150 a month plus $500 activation; Pro phone support $150 a month.

AuctionMethod's page also lists an Auctioneer Toolbox mobile app for Android and iOS to "Catalog items, snap photos, and manage auction pickups right from your phone."

What the alternatives cost

Every option below publishes a price, but each prices a different unit. Software fees only, lowest published plan, accessed September 30, 2026:

Option AuctionMethod job it replaces Published price Share of sales
AuctionMethod (reference) Whole platform $100/month + $250 activation None
Circuit Auction Whole platform, white-label $250/month on annual terms, or $350 without; AI cataloging +$250/month 2% of winning bids (Standard)
BidWrangler Whole platform, white-label, with app Not published Not published
Auction Flex 360 + HiBid Back office; bidding moves to HiBid $95/month (1 user) to $295 (unlimited users) 2% HiBid auction fee + $0.25 per unique bid, capped at $150
Estimint Clerking, invoices, settlements, AI listings (no bidding site) Auction Pro $149/month (3,500 listings) None listed
Gavelist AI cataloging only $0.15/lot, or $79 (1,000 lots), $160 (2,500), $250 (5,000) a month 0%

On price alone, AuctionMethod's $100 Growth plan is hard to undercut for a branded bidding site. According to Circuit Auction's pricing page (accessed September 30, 2026), its Standard plan is "$250 /month* + 2% commission on winning bids," so on $50,000 of winning bids a month Circuit's commission alone is $1,000. According to Auction Flex's pricing page (accessed September 30, 2026), sales with online bidders on HiBid carry a 2% auction fee. If you are looking elsewhere, pin down whether the Growth price, the step up to Scale ($750 plus $2,500 activation), or a missing workflow is driving it; the answer decides which alternative fits.

Keeping AuctionMethod and replacing only the cataloging

AuctionMethod's pricing page lists cataloging tools but no AI description writing. If description writing is the bottleneck, the smallest change is to keep AuctionMethod for bidding and invoicing and let Gavelist write the catalog. Gavelist reads every photo attached to a lot together, writes 1,000+ lots in about 10 minutes on the description pass, and exports a universal CSV/XLS formatted for AuctionMethod import. The steps are in how to export your auction catalog to AuctionMethod.

The cost sits next to AuctionMethod's no-commission model: Gavelist charges $0.15 per lot and takes 0% of auction sales, so a 500-lot month is $75 and a 1,000-lot month is $79 on the Auctioneer plan. For scale, according to Sound Auction Service in Washington state (accessed September 2026), "We charge $3.00 per lot for cataloging," covering "preparation of items, title and description creation, photographs as needed, and upload" by hand.

According to Gavelist production data through September 22, 2026, 96.3% of the 58,134 lots clients exported through Gavelist went out with no client edit to the AI-written title or description; one client supplied about 70% of those lots at 99.8%, and across every other Gavelist client the figure is 88.2%. A lot counts as edited if the client saved a change to its title or description in Gavelist before exporting.

Replacing the whole platform

  • Circuit Auction suits collectibles houses that want a white-label site with multi-currency and "40+ Languages," per its home page. Its Enterprise plan drops the commission for a quoted fixed price.
  • BidWrangler describes itself as "Independently Owned" with "Branded, white-label solutions," a bidding app for Apple and Android, and "built-in AI cataloging tools," per its home page (accessed September 30, 2026). It publishes no prices.
  • Auction Flex 360 with HiBid moves your bidders onto HiBid instead of your own domain, in exchange for HiBid's marketplace traffic. Our Auction Flex alternatives guide prices every tier.

A decision framework

  • You like AuctionMethod but description writing eats your week: keep AuctionMethod and add Gavelist for the catalog.
  • You need HiBid's bidder traffic more than your own domain: Auction Flex 360, accepting HiBid's 2% fee.
  • You run high-value collectibles with international bidders: compare Circuit Auction's Standard commission against its quoted Enterprise price.
  • You need clerking and settlements without a public bidding site: Estimint's $149 Auction Pro plan.

Online sales are where the growth is: according to Technavio (accessed September 2026), the online auction market is valued to increase by USD 4.25 billion, at a CAGR of 13.6% from 2025 to 2030. According to the EstateSales.NET 2024 Industry Survey, 55% of estate sale businesses consider estate sales their primary income source, which is why a flat, no-commission fee matters to owner-operators.
